No channels added with RHEL or SLES ES or CentOS 8 Base from SCC - Uyuni 2021.06 #3991

Additional Information

When adding RHEL or SLES ES or CentOS 8 Base from the SCC products only an empty Base Channel is created. I was under the impression that the RES repository at least would show up, but it did not.

Had a call with a representative from Suse and he confirmed that the RES repo was also missing in Suse Manager.

Maybe the procedure to add support redhat clients is missing some information, but I followed the steps for the CDN method.

I even added the custom repos now to that base channel that was created via the product page. I do not know why I thought that would help.

Can somebody please specify the correct way to get the RES repo for the uyuni client tools, so that the bootstrap repo for redhat8 can be created?

Maybe someone can provide information about how to bootstrap Redhat 8 clients?

For official RedHat 8 you need a subscription from RedHat to access their CDN. You select "RHEL or SLES ES or CentOS 8 Base" and make the custom channels child channels of the empty one with will be created. After this you need to add the uyuni client tools channel using spacewalk-common-channel commandline tool. It shold add the client tool channel also as child channel to the empty base channel.

For RES you need a subscription from SUSE to access this product via SCC. It is visible as a child product in the Product page of the setup wizard. Please use the latest uyuni version. We had a bug, but that is fixed. You still need the uyuni client tools channel.
