migrated to gitlab #2

we've moved development over to uzh's git, also using gitlab issues to track bugs & features.

CI/CD has not been migrated and is still currently based on the master branch of this repo.

Please consider adding a deprecation status (or archive), as long as it doesn't effect the CI/CD from this repo.

S3IT deployment is now from the private gitlab repo. The github repo here can be considered archived.
