First Person Issue 1.4.1 #10

Closed Organizer21 closed 1 year ago

Organizer21 commented 2 years ago

Just updated to 1.4.1 and I am experiencing that when zooming to first person, the camera lock up to a static position (in third person). Meaning I can run around and away from the camera positions, very weird and could almost be a funny extra mode to capture something in, though yeah, clearly we also need the regular first person view :)

It would be helpful if you provided some details with a bug report. I cannot reproduce this by simply zooming in and out.

What were you doing what it happened? Do you have any other mods installed? What are your settings?

Organizer21 commented 2 years ago

Strange, I am fairly sure it must be connected (like with the last bug, reverted to 1.3.1 for all to work fine). Here are the basic details, if its down to settings and/or in case I need to check if I can reproduce again I'll have to check later on.

I was not doing anything special and experienced it twice before downgrading, once in Dawnbreak Village, just standing outside a house (admin mode and some toggleobserve mode on/off most likely). Second time was in the Copper Mines, just hanging around (again with admin mode, but not using anything beyond toggleobserve and addtime)... at what point it seemed to be easy to reproduce so avoided it and later reverted to 1.3.1.

Other Mods: HideInterface 1.2.0 and its dependancies (BepInExPack_V_Rising 1.0.0 and Wetstone 1.1.0)

Okay, reproduced it right away, so not sure if related to HideInterface or some bugged up settings on my end:

I'll test it with that mod installed. Your setting look mostly default so I don't think that's it.

I had the same issue, but only when playing on a dedicated server that I set up locally. Solo & Private games don't seem to suffer from this issue. I went as far as installing the mod on the server as well but it didn't help (tested with 1.4.1 of the Mod, and Bepinex v1.0.0)

When playing on a dedicated server and zooming in, at the point where the camera is supposed to transition into first person view, instead of first person view the camera gets stuck in place and you can move the character independent of the camera.

I tried a few times and cannot reproduce this. Could you post the server settings and ModernCamera settings?

Organizer21 commented 2 years ago

That's makes this a mystery then; I've no idea of any ModernCamera settings > Installed, using F11, nothing more nothing less. In regards to the server, it's a dedicated one and I think nothing special settings wise but see attached files. Revering to 1.3.1 makes everything work just fine for some reason. I can test on a 2nd client this week, just in case and or without this mod installed and get back top you.

Okay, I can confirm that starting the game only with your mod still causes the issue (1.4.1) so it's not related to the other mod at glance. Any thoughts on what I can supply you with and or test on my installation?

Update: The issue also happens with 1.4.0 when on the local dedicated server Update 1: This issue is NOT happening with 1.4.0 if I start/host a new local server. Update 2: Testing with 1.4.1 on a local hosted game (the game that was moved the dedicated server long ago) works fine.

In light of my updated findings, I presume it's either related to "dedicated" and/or "server settings" somehow (and something that changed between 1.3.1 and 1.4.0/1 seeing the older version works).

iZastic commented 2 years ago

I use a local dedicated server when testing. Even using your server and client settings with different types of servers I cannot reproduce at all.

Organizer21 commented 2 years ago

Wow, okay, that's crazy. Maybe I need to try to reinstall the server and just copy over the DB and/or try to take the server DB to a local save (presuming that also work) just to see if the error occurs then as well as I've no idea what to debug next. That you can't reproduce and that I still have this issue makes no sense to me at this point.

Here's how it looks for reference: https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/16366292/178098553-8abee5d1-e506-4c47-b230-a27b3e4e09ed.mp4

Actually looks kind of cool.

Is there any errors in either the client or server logs?

iZastic commented 1 year ago

Haven't heard anything new about this issue
