You could just create a secondary tag that only admins have permissions to, and add that tag to discussions. I think that should be the way to do it imo.
I have created blog-posts tag which has admin permissions. After I add this tag to discussion but its main category does not show on blog homepage's category navbar. For example there is a dicussion has military tag and blog-posts tag, I set to show only blog posts thus I can see only I selected discussions. But I can't select military category on blog homepage.
I think I see what you mean. Yes it would be very nice to be able to show the primary tag category filters of discussions that are tagged with a secondary blog tag. So not all discussions show, but you can select which ones and still provide meaningful category filters.
I'm doing what you are doing, and selecting specific posts from existing discussions but I don't want all in that primary tag to be a blog post, so I apply the secondary tag designated for blogs, but it means that I have basically one category on the blog page.
Hopefully that makes sense to Jasper and v17 team, and why it would be great to have this feature! :)
Thank you very much for your valuable contibution. I am trying to do similar thing like these website:

In the current situation, the blog plugin moves all the content in the category to the blog section without any filter, so a lot of content appears. In the following process, an option can be added where the content selected by the site administrator can be displayed in the blog section, not based on category.
