yad notification doesn't work with Gnome #172

yad still uses the long-deprecated classical system tray for its notifications and menu system.

Until recently, people had written workaround for this for Gnome. But, that no longer works for Gnome 42 and up, as that method has finally been obsoleted.

Please could yad be updated to use the modern method, so that its --notification with its menu works in Gnome 42.

I'd also second this request, as this is also the case for Budgie (and other DEs soon, probably) as they've also now obsoleted XEMBED and moved on to StatusNotifier.
