What to do with redundant files? #91

The problem: in some cases, the ISB has two source files for songs that need to be consolidated. E.g., the Sangeet Samrat Tansen songs sapt suran tiin graam and raag bhairav pratham are two parts of the same song. There are also various tandem songs whose versions are in separate files.

Consolidating them into a single file is easy enough, but what should we do with the redundant file? If the two songs are put together into source file #2457, is it okay to just burninate the source file #2444? What technical or logistical issues would we face?

I can think of one. If someone has linked #2444 at an external site, that link will no longer work. Should we try to account for this by redirects? Or is this something we decide not to care about? I'm okay either way, I just wanted to ask what stance we should adopt.

There are probably other issues that others might be able to think of.

For now, let's leave them be. I am not too concerned about external sites because I don't think anyone's linking directly to the files (if they did, they would have broken links with the move to github too). But of course, giitaayan index needs to be updated. Is there a way to keep track of them? Feel free to create a page on the repo's Wiki (https://github.com/v9y/giit/wiki) to note these down.
