Codeshare Routes Documentation #1

How to use Easy Codeshare should be better documented.

velocity23 commented 3 years ago

The Flight Number has to match exactly. If you've put just 930 as your flight number, putting TG930 in the routes field won't work, and vise versa.

20201014_195641 Confirmed route number with Sam twice. Entered exactly. Maybe their codeshare ID is not 6 or something's up with my setup?

velocity23 commented 3 years ago

Ah I see. This needs to be better documented. In these requests your sending some of your routes to another airline. So what you need to enter in that field is the routes you want to send to them, then they can do the same for you. I'll write some better docs on this.

Whoops! Didn't read the documentation, to be honest, Because it says "make codeshare request" I thought we were requested routes from the other airline. "You can also make codeshare requests to share routes with other VAs." This also is a bit confusing, because making a request by offering routes isn't quite intuitive for me. :D This means that we would be "offering" our routes to them, and should they agree, they would offer their routes, right? Would it allow for a back-and-forth until an agreement is reached, because otherwise people can just agree on Slack/Discord/IFC and there's no need for this section in VANet/Flare. Or people can agree elsewhere, but still have to use this feature to add codeshare (and revoke at a later date if needed?)

Yeah the idea is negotiate over Slack/IFC then send the routes via Flare. It's just a little thing, so you can instantly have the routes you're receiving your database with a single click. I agree with the rewordings though, I'll see what I can do for Beta 18.
