Level 2 music for Truxton/Tatsujin missing bass line? #33

Potential Issue: The music for "level 2" of Truxton/Tatsujin sounds incomplete, or missing instrument(s), in the current (as at mid-April 2022) MiSTer core. By "level 2", I mean the first music change in the game, which occurs about 5 to 10 minutes into play.

Demonstrations online:

  1. Arcade/MAME; generic clips to basically demonstrate the expected music mix, and showing a strong bassline component to the music:

"[60fps] Truxton/Tatsujin ..." by edusword https://youtu.be/PQ14EsaFTH4?t=295 4:55 -

"Arcade Longplay [300] Truxton" by World of Longplays https://youtu.be/9_fX0yXVDh0?t=280 4:00 -

  1. Current MiSTer core's version, as demonstrated (with specific mention of the issue) during a streamer's playthrough, showing little-to-no bassline present for this track, with a result sounding like half of the music isn't playing:

"MiSTerFPGA- New Toaplan, Konami, and Data East arcade cores!" by owlnonymous https://youtu.be/oBQoBmvsLq0?t=2238 37:18 - 38:00

I haven't progressed further than this in the game yet, in the MiSTer version, so I can't say whether any other music later in the game has similar issues or not. The level 1 music seems perfectly fine.

Thanks! This is a known issue (see #31). It's an issue with jtopl2 mixing. We're going to look at everything and I'll dump audio from the Tatsujin PCB with a volt2 when I take other measurements off the board. @va7deo is going to do some verilator sims and address the percussion / bass issues.

I'm going to close this because it falls in line with #31.
