Changing attributes manually do not reflect back to the size and space panel

Steps to reproduce

1. Have a vertical layout
2. Edit the theme attribute to say "spacing"

Actual behavior

Size and Spacing panels Spacing select has empty value

Expected behavior

Size and Spacing panels Spacing select should have M selected. (that the theme field value changes when it goes to edit mode is another bug, #2281)

It looks like this issue hasn't progressed lately. There are so many issues that we just can't deal them all within a reasonable timeframe.
