Backlight is active and screen is not blanked during call #709

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Make a phone call
2. The display remains active during the whole call, even the device is placed 
next to the ear

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

To save energy it would be great to blank the display during the call.

What version of the product are you using? On what device/operating system?

HTC Desire with Android 2.2. Sipdroid 1.6.1 Beta

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?

Sipgate.de.

Which type of network are you using?

WLAN

Please provide any additional information below.
When performing a GSM phone call the display is blanked when the device is held 
next to the ear. So i assume there is a sensor present to detect the ear.
