I'm using your code to backup my vms, I have changed the code to support virtio-scsi and some IO tunning.

Are you interested in merging this somehow?

Sorry, I don't remember anymore, it was long time ago, but it's working today.

Will you be active in the next future to merge the request? I can make the diff! :-)
