I am in the final stages of preparing an alpha release for v2.0.0 which is a complete rewrite with no jQuery dependency. Bootstrap (4/5 most probably) integration/compatibility is also planned but it's hard to give a precise time estimate yet. But the current jQuery-dependent branch will almost certainly not get any further significant updates from me due to lack of time.

Could you please share your code? I am going to work on a project that requires this plugin. By testing it out, I can provide you with valuable feedback. Additionally, I can explore the Bootstrap v5 addon.

Sorry, I still need a bit time but I am now very close to releasing the new code. I've made noticeable progress during the summer although, unfortunately, I am not able to fully concentrate on it due to client projects (and that is the main reason it's taking longer than I would have liked). But, hopefully, it's a matter of few weeks now rather than months.
