gpsd new protocol

hi

as i noted, you are using gpsd protocol prior v2.90 which will discontinued 
from v3 in end of 2010/09

so maybe there is reason to add new protocol.

and also i have tried to use gpsfeed+ ( 
http://users.hol.gr/~dzach/gpsfeed/index.html ) listed on main page of gpsd 
project but out of lack.
gpsd4win does not understand ais:// nor tcp://

under ubuntu gpsd v2.92 (should work with old protocol) feeds from gpsfeed+ but 
no answers even on single 'o' command, only reply on new protocol commands.
but it works with real gps under ubuntu.

update:

i think is better to add connection attempts to thread to repeat connection if 
connection lost.
if pc going to sleep catcher does not resume gps updates and catcher need to be 
restarted.

in the next version we will have the latest version + GMapCatcher will read 
NMEA sentences directly from receiver via serial port
