storyboard: sequence of drawings to tell a story

why? In design context

narration with visuals
when words are not enough
- visuals for instruction (product usage)
- it's a universal language
- a picture is worth 1000 words

a compelling storyboard

no requirement for words
each board has a specific purpose
Close-up shots to focus on what's relevant to narration at that point

how to approach a storyboard question? (sure question)

observe, and speculate key events: story writing skill
perspective and camera angle: close-up shots (easier drawing, less ambiguous, less cognitive load)
emotions and expressions: exaggeration, infographics, color, metaphor
action lines: motion, direction, lively
simple line drawings: no time for details, annotate shadows, don't overestimate yourself

AVOID generic story (creative but not complex) ---find that middle ground

USE THUMBNAIL sketches: helps composition and a better perspective for story and drawing
