HTC Legend 2.2 sends password wrong #1000

I am having trouble getting SIPdroid to work on HTC Legend 2.2 with 2.6.32.17 
kernel. I always get response 403 (authentication failed) from the sip server. 
I tried password many times, tried same account on a different phone with 
sipdroid (Nexus S) and it works flawlessly. To test it further i tried 
different sip accounts and result is always the same.
