invisible status no longer available in google chat #846

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Install sipdroid using google voice
2.log in to desktop google chat
3.set status to invisible

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected output is google chat reflect invisible status: What you see instead
is:

"Oops! You are not invisible because you're logged into Google Talk from
another client, device, or location that doesn't support invisibility."

This is because sipdroid working with pbxes.org is not able to reflect a status
setting.

I have tried logging out all instances but he problem persists.

What version of the product are you using? On what device/operating system?

I am using updated sipdroid 2.1 beta updated 2/15/11
on a LG optimus v
running android 2.2.1 (not rooted)

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?
I am using pbxes.org

Which type of network are you using?
this happens on wifi and 3g.

Please provide any additional information below.

This problem is an annoyance because it invites constant chat communication
since my status is permanently "online and available"

Changing chat status (invisible, busy, etc) and message (i.e. "not online or
available") doesn't appear to work either.

Same problem here. I've been trying to figure this issue out for some time but
I hadn't considered pbxes as the cause. It s a serious issue. I'm missing IM's
when I'm off line and being bothered when I'm working and need to be invisible.

Thanks for the great service. I hope this is an easy fix for you.

Is there a way to temporarily disable the trunk to verify if it is the problem?

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Yes. Disabling the trunk in the pbxes.org admin interface fixes the problem.

This is a pbxes problem, not a sipdroid issue and I'm worried that this bug
report will not reach the right people. I can't put anything on the pbxes forum
because I don't have a paid account.

If anyone has access there, I would greatly appreciate it if this issue can be
posted there.

I tried solving the problem by deleting the trunk in the pbxes.org admin but I
still see my gmail call module invisible. I tried to check if Google has any
suggestion on their forum about how to enable the module again but I didn't
find anything.

I have tried to contact pbxes but the are very difficult to contact. There is
not contact info on the website. I sent a message to their parent company
months ago but never heard back.

I deleted my pbxes account and that solved the problem.

My status on gtalk / gchat is “Online and Available” when I am not online
on any computer.
Is there any way to change either my status or better yet make me invisible?
My problem is that people try to chat with me when I’m not “Online and
Available”.
Let me know.

Seems this issue also prevents Google chat from receiving calls in Gmail.
Called out of Gmail chat fine, but could not receive voice call there. Can
anyone confirm? Trying to determine if there is another cause.

Yes, I can confirm that you cannot receive calls in gmail / gchat / gtalk.
Still, my concern is my status in google's chat program.
The default and uncontrollable status of "Online and Available" is my biggest
problem.

It seems that other programs including GrooveIP (paid version) give you the
option to change and even go invisible. (Sadly, their voice quality is not to
my liking.)
Can we get this option in sipdroid?
