Need more information on the purpose. I assume this is an identifier that
points to a URI for a QC document on the web. I suggest we add the term
qualityControlDescription (not Document) to the following vocabulary.
http://mmisw.org/orr/#http://mmisw.org/ont/ioos/definition

Other attributes that need to be clarified in order to follow the format of the
vocabulary above...

term: qualityControlDescription
reference: Not sure we have a reference for this concept
def_type: identifier
source: IOOS (though it would be worth some time browsing uncertweb.org or
uncertML to see if this concept can be referenced)
description: URI of a document or description of the quality control procedures
that have been applied to the data generated by the current procedure
name: Quality Control Description

Examples:
      <sml:documentation>
        <sml:DocumentList>
          <sml:member name="qc" xlink:arcrole="http://mmisw.org/ont/ioos/definition/qualityControlDocument">
            <sml:Document>
              <gml:description>Handbook of Automated Data Quality Control Checks and Procedures, National Data Buoy Center, August 2009</gml:description>
              <sml:format>pdf</sml:format>
              <sml:onlineResource xlink:href="http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/NDBCHandbookofAutomatedDataQualityControl2009.pdf"/>
            </sml:Document>
          </sml:member>

I have added the term "qualityControlDescription" to the vocabulary
http://mmisw.org/orr/#http://mmisw.org/ont/ioos/definition

I need some clarification now on the fields for the vocabulary.

Thanks.

Rob: your MMI definition entry looks complete and fine to me. The only question
I have is whether this term should be an identifier (the attribute value you
entered for def_type), a classifier, or something new. classifier seems more
appropriate, but I haven't been following the qualityControlDescription
discussion closely.

Any thoughts on whether qualityControlDescription definition type should be a
classifier or identifier? I would like to close this issue within the the next
day.

I don't see why we need to specify that in the vocabulary defintion. I think
the classifier/identifier distinction is a function of how it is used in a
document and not a basic characteristic of the word. This means that a term or
concept can be used in both roles depending on the context.

Why do we need to specify now? If you look at the example in comment 3 there
is no distinction.

I am closing this issue. The decision is that the term classifier/identifier
does not need to be specified in the definition. The use of classifier or
identifier is dependent on the context that the term is used for a document.
