next order should look something like this
It should take 7 to 11 days for a plantain to ripen. In a warmer environment, you can expect plantains to ripen faster. A plantain is ripe when it's black and wrinkled in appearance and soft to the touch.
let's try 3KG of plantain, would need to get them 11 days before dry hop time so that they're extra ripe when we use them
Original recipe had:
Let's try 5 lb (2.27 kg) of golden promise: https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/Golden_Promise_Simpsons_1_lb_Crushed_p/malt-crushed-goldenpromise.htm Let's try 5 lb of honey malt in place of pale malt: https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/Honey_Malt_Gambrinus_1_lb_Crushed_p/malt-crushed-honeymalt.htm Wheat malt (min 1 lb, 453 g): https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/Pale_Wheat_Malt_Weyermann_1_lb_Crushed_p/malt-crushed-palewheat.htm Oat (min 1lb, 453 g): https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/Flaked_Oats_OiO_1_lb_p/malt-1lb-flaked-oats.htm
Hops:
Let's take 1 oz Warrior, will be useful for 2 batches: https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/US_Warrior_Hop_Pellets_1_oz_p/hops-warrior.htm Let's replace Simcoe by Cascade to try, so 3 oz would be 85 g: https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/US_Cascade_Hop_Pellets_1_oz_p/hops-cascade.htm Also, El Dorado: https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/US_El_Dorado_Hop_Pellets_1_oz_p/hops-el-dorado.htm And Lemondrop seems interesting: https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/Lemondrop_Hop_Pellets_1_oz_p/hops-lemondrop.htm Citra is always a safe bet: https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/US_Citra_Hop_Pellets_1_oz_p/hops-citra.htm
Maybe 3 oz cascade and 3 oz Lemondrop for this one, will be a bit less hops than the original batch but that would leave more room for the banana and pineapple?
Yeast:
California yeast seems good for NEIPA so could try that instead: https://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/White_Labs_WLP001_California_Ale_Yeast_p/wlp001-california-ale-yeast.htm
