If I have mamba already, do I need miniconda3?; maybe a first instruction might be to check what's already set-up in the user's environment, i.e. are there checks I can do from my environment to check what I need to add?
Comment: if you want to destroy an existing installation of bgcval2, you need to use rm -rf to dig out the hidden files (I spotted this requirement mentioned later in the instructions for rebuilding)
For absolute clarity, explain where you should be located in file space when you execute “git fetch”, “git merge origin/main”, etc.
This line “rm -rf $USER/miniconda3/envs/bgcval2” is ambiguous since $USER doesn’t make sense; I think ~/ would make more sense
