ExplorerPatcher with Open-Shell Menu and Taskbar Quick Launch Icons (Windows 11). #2908

Hello. I am using ExplorerPatcher in conjunction with Open-Shell Menu.

  1. Some times (8 out of 10) when my PC stays closed for some period of time e.g for a week, ExplorerPatcher messes with my "Quick Launch" icons in Taskbar (Taskbar Style: Windows 10), as you can see in the pictures below. Some times it makes them small, some times big. Like, it doesn't respect my settings. The only way to fix this, is to restart ExplorerPatcher (Taskbar -> Properties -> Restart File Explorer).

  1. Quick Launch Icons aren't "Centered":

Please include what settings you changed in explorer patcher properties application. These should be screen shots.

Please include any other software you have installed that modifies the UI of windows.

StavrosTsik commented 9 months ago

I have included both in my post.

pyrates999 commented 9 months ago

There are no screen shots of the settings from the EP Properties application.

StavrosTsik commented 9 months ago

There are. They are zipped in the file “myExplorerPatcher_Settings.zip” I have posted above. Do you want them posted unzipped?

Yes, it is easier to see.

First change I would do is untick register as shell extension. Here's why: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/wiki/Using-ExplorerPatcher-as-shell-extension

Didn't understand much from the post but I will try it and see how it will go.

How about issue No 2 with Quick Launch Icons aren't be "Centered" ? Here is a picture from Windows 10 Taskbar in which it clearly shows that the icons are "Centered" ((Windows 10 default Feature ?) - I don't remember neither what version of Windows 10 I was using nor IF I was using (probably not) ExplorerPatcher):

Please wait for a developer to respond.

After I had my PC closed and unplugged from the power outlet for a week (away for work) and after the change of the above setting, I had again my "Quick Launch" icons like this:

The icons not being centered has been brought up before and it's been declined to be fixed, sorry.
