Is this the NexusFile you installed? https://www.xiles.app/
Is this the NexusFile you installed? https://www.xiles.app/
Yes, I had linked it in my report
Ok, NexusFile hasn't been updated since 2021. Do they have a url where you can submit bug reports? And then include that url here of your bug report.
Thanks for the snappy response. Why do you feel this is an issue with NexusFile though? The access violation is not reproducible when launching without ExplorerPatcher in the picture (mentioned in the first post).
Having said that, the only way to report a bug with NexusFile is through the e-mail address provided.
I would submit a bug report with them while waiting for the developers here to respond.
One thing, do you have register as shell extension enabled? If so, disable it. Here's why: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/wiki/Using-ExplorerPatcher-as-shell-extension
I did have register shell extension enabled, but disabling and restarting makes no difference to the exception with launching NexusFile.
Can you let me know why you feel this is an issue with NexusFile? Like I mentioned earlier, after uninstalling ExplorerPatcher, NexusFile launches just fine, with not a single instance of this exception.
I suggested both in case the cause of this was either one.
NexusFile (a file manager) crashes sporadically regardless of starting from the Windows Taskbar, Start Menu, or a desktop shortcut.
The issue is reproducible with all previous ExplorerPatcher versions as well. Not so, with ExplorerPatcher disabled/uninstalled.
ExplorerPatcher version: 22621.3296.64.1 OS version: Windows 11 23H2 OS Build: 22631.3296 NexusFile version: 5.4.1.5623 (64-bit version)
Thanks in advance for your attention. Cheers.
-- Update (2024/04/08, 20:24 EST) -- The issue is observed only on machines with AMD APU/GPU, regardless of being a laptop or desktop, never manifests on Intel or Nvidia GPUs.
-- Update (2024/05/19, 23:24 EST) -- Does not reproduce on Windows 10, so seems like a Windows 11 only issue.
