From Kixx:

On Planets a button for: Selling all stock in hold Buying the maximum food you can carry Buying maximum water you can carry Buying food/water in a 3:2 ratio (Starbase stocking)

And on Starbases: Buying energy selling food/water Sell all

Buildings: Selling all available commodities (Auto fill so it will only sell what the building can hold)

This is moot now, the game now provides functionality very similar to this.
