and now what's the next step? do you have this set up on your machine? if so, do you have any docs or steps to help me get this set up on mine?

and then we need to get it somewhere that our app can read it, like our server or somewhere else that will host for free.

trying to get it installed but having issues. looks like it's trying now, might be hung up or might just be taking a long time. I'll update once it finishes or I have to kill it.

Looks like it worked. the tutorial getting started past installation is not for windows. I'm not sure how to move forward as far as getting this into our "real" web app.

do you have a link to the tutorial?

we will both want to run a copy of the db on our machines, just for development. but maybe we can set something up on the server for now. do you want ssh permissions to the server?

Here is the install link, but it is for windows. However, the other options (Linux, OS, etc are there too): http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-windows/
