We are experimenting with a new type of project:

A client pays for development and pays according to how much work gets done, every week or so. This is an open system, as opposed to a pre-budgeted system, for which there is a finite amount of resources allocated for a deliverable, that would be distributed to all contributors for the amount of work done.

The client wants to monitor how resources are spent over time to produce deliverables.

We believe this project type will be encountered more in the future and also by other networks. It is a service type project, with no predefined budget agreement, i.e. open in that sense.

NEEDS Produce a dashboard that shows

• how people allocate resources to the project over time, per type of work (or role), per process
• burnrate in terms of $ (this requires to be able to set up 4/hour for types of work, in the context of a process AND project).
