On YouTube, resetting when opening a new video? #13

YouTube has a serious problem of different volume levels from different uploaders, and I am not sure why Google is not providing any way to fix this. I installed this extension, and it did boost the volume without noticeable distortion. So, thank you for that.

But the inconvenience is that when I navigate to another video, the gain settings remains the same. For example, I clicked a video on YouTube, and its volume level was really really low. So I set the gain to 5. And then I click another video. This time, its volume level is normal, but this extension still applies the 5 gain, making the video very loud.

So, I wonder if there can be a simple option to reset the gain to the default when opening a new video on YouTube. Also, a [Reset] button on the right-side of the slider would be convenient.

Yeah, YouTube opens new videos in the same player. For now the easiest way is to open new videos in new tabs :) I might implement these things in a future release.

If you want the Sound Fixer's gain to reset to the default when opening a new video on YouTube you just need to change YouTube layout to the old layout (Classic layout instead of the Polymer layout) You have 2 options to do it :

  1. Install this addon - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/disable-polymer-youtube/ OR
  2. Install Tampermonkey and then install this script - https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/39405-youtube-classic-for-2018-polymer-disable

For testing - here's a youtube video with a low sound - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rFDCr6Nvrw

OK... I should have emphasized that my solution is only a workaround....

The same thing happens on prime video / netflix; when a new episode is played

I also would like Soundfixer to save its preset, preferably per domain.
