Oh yes! It's a long time I wanted to do that, thank you very much. At first look it seems perfect. I'll integrate your change and modify also the Makefile to create and install the .mo as needed.

Just a quick status update: almost finished with all this (Makefile change, ...). I will add french translation as well.

Hi, I've merged your code changes and translation. I've made some changes, modified the Makefile and other documentation files. Last step is to finalise the french translation I've added. Will be done soon.

@Pro-pra : I've completed the code changes for the translation support i.e. including translation of the help and debug messages, in addition to the standard notification that you have done. The Makefile is finished also.

There are now more strings to be translated in the file ru.po (28 translated and 32 not translated). Could you add the missing translated string?

To have a status of translation: you can use the 'make translation-status' command.
