OPBM does not run from desktop #75

Closed jimmacd closed 13 years ago

jimmacd commented 13 years ago

I have to copy the OPBM folder to C:\
If not then 7-zip install fails.

ghost commented 13 years ago

Is there a space in your path? I have been able to get it to run from my desktop, but mine is c:\users\rick\desktop.

jimmacd commented 13 years ago

yup... see next issue which is related

ghost commented 13 years ago

Make sure you also copy over the autoIt directory (at the same level as opbm). Those two are a relative pair.

jimmacd commented 13 years ago

yes... I copy the whole tree and it works.

ghost commented 13 years ago

Was it just missing the autoIt directory and that's why the scripts were failing? Or is it still not working with the space?

van-smith commented 13 years ago

To verify, I initiated OPBM from the Desktop and 7zip installed without issue. However, my Win7 user name is "van", so there are no spaces in the file path to the Desktop.

Jim, please after a failed run click the "Gather Debug Info" and send the file it creates to me in email.

jimmacd commented 13 years ago

running now... I'll send before I leave.

van-smith commented 13 years ago

I inserted a space in the OPBM file path (e.g. "C:\my opbm\") and the 7zip installer failed as Jim described.

Note that I have not done a pull yet this afternoon.

ghost commented 13 years ago

Van, please do a pull of the latest pushes and run a trial run with stop-on-failure set to off, and report any tests that fail with a space in the pathname. Create a new bug issue for each.

van-smith commented 13 years ago

I launched an Official Run with the OPBM directory on the Desktop (with user name "van" so there are no spaces in the file path) and two runs completed before I aborted the test. This was made before any code pulls this afternoon.

van-smith commented 13 years ago

Pulled latest code and ran OPBM from the Desktop under user name "van smith". Verified.
