Steps to reproduce: Add or edit a flashcard with an excessively long english word (>200 characters for example)

Expected: Full english word to be shown on the the list cells

Actual: Part of english word truncated due to the limited width of the monitor

Suggestions: Limit english word input to the longest english word ever created.

Team's Response

This is not applicable for our target audience (NUS German 1 and German 2 students) as these students are beginners who would not add such complex words into the glossary. In addition, the German 1 and German 2 glossary does not contain such long words.

 Issue response

Team chose [response.Rejected]

Reason for disagreement: I feel that just because your target audience are unlikely to add such long words into the glossary, your team should not discount the possibility that they might do so. The students using your product might wish to extend the use of the app beyond german 1 and 2 to further enhance their german profiency beyond that of german 1 and 2. And when doing so, they might encounter long phrases/sentences that they wish to add into app, but are constrained due to the limitations of the window size. Thus I feel that a better approach is to limit the input for the english word to so that it does not exceed the width of the window. Furthermore setting a limit for the english word would encourage the students to come up with more concise english translations for each german phrase/word, which would aid them in remembering/memorising the german words.
