The big linden tree by the frond door of Frist Hall (the nursing annex) used to be in the GIS database as old ID 6-89. However, it's been missing from several recent versions of the database. The old GIS has its taxonomic ID as Tilia americana, but if you look at http://bioimages.vanderbilt.edu/baskauf/15576.htm which is a photo of the underside of its leaf, I think it should really be Tilia heterophylla . This tree has a web page http://bioimages.vanderbilt.edu/vanderbilt/6-89.htm since it was on the original online tree tour.
