Nice job on the homework!! A few notes on activity 5:

• Helpful description of the max.level() and list.len() option of str(). Good, insightful commentary.
• "So, for Theon Greyjoy, I've set list.len=6 once again because of spoiler prevention reasons since I'm not sure how old or updated this list is and I'm not quite up to date on who's still alive in the show." - I feel you on that. Spoilers are whack.
• Is there a way to be more specific in the categories you choose to show when using list.len()? You assignment leads me to believe that you can only select the first x number of them - is that true?

And activity 3:

• candy[1669, 99] spits out an NA value - was this supposed to happen?
• Great analysis. It would've been nice a couple of the tables you used to feed into your top 5 and bottom 5 analysis. Also this is nitpicking but why did you decide to remove periods from the candy bar names?
• Similarly, it would've been nice to see the head of the original data frame, just to know how you are pulling together this analysis and what possibilities exist.

Hey @vanflad,

Nicely organized repo, it is easy to navigate and find all files. For homework assignment 6, it seems like you created links for the different sections of your assignment, but there’s no TOC at the top. I think this would make it easier to jump around and navigate through things. Otherwise, I thought your .md was organized well and easy follow and your commentary was very helpful.

Work with a list:

• I appreciate that you explained the different stringr functions as you went, I didn’t do this exercise and I am still fairly new to R so this was nice that you explained each one

Working with the candy data:

• great job on the data wrangling section, you used lots of functions/verbs to get the data in the format you wanted
• it was easy to follow along with your coding and your commentary was funny
• nice job choosing one of the more difficult tasks!

Overall, great job on assignment 6!

Hi @vanflad ! Here are some comments about your hw06:

• Nice work overall for the first task! You were able to able to show the differences between using list.len, max.level and how they worked with lists. Your explanations were good and you clearly illustrated the effects of these functions!
• Note: Thanks for being considerate about spoilers!!
• Your second task was also very well done. You had good explanations for each task and it was easy to follow what you were doing. Your data cleaning was well done, although I don’t always recommend removing spacing between words (perhaps replace them with underscores) since separators can be useful too. Your table at the end is a bit hard to read because some strings are really long.
• When comparing the top and bottom preferences of each group, I think that you could do it graphically as well. Perhaps show a barchart for each group showing the number of joys and despairs for the top and bottom treats. I think that it would be more interesting to look at and to compare the differences between groups (although you kind of did this for the entire dataset in the next section).
• Nice work overall, your report was well done and you provided nice explanations for each task! It was a very interesting read. I would suggest that you refrain from trying to show too much though since it can take away from the organization of your report (like that long list in your first task, or having too many things on axis so that you can’t read the items). Good job!
