What about filling the gap at the forward edge of the panel with some kind of wedge (HDPE or other)?

We absolutely can, I had also debated it. It won't be til Fall, for sure, but it's possible. The toughest part will be the contour, but we could add two more screw holes on the left edge to hold it easily (good for aesthetic, too).

Honestly, I'm kinda thinking it's premature for us to cut the final piece right now. It feels rushed, and I think it's going to cost quality of fitment in the end. As I model it I'm noticing things that could use fine tuning through an MDF draft or three.

I'd love to sort all of this out on the shitty hdpe one and mdf before we go too ham. Maybe dimensions change drastically, who knows. If we're contouring, now we can possibly go bigger for etching space. Maybe we spread buttons out a little, who knows. What do you think? I know you want it to look finished this summer, I'm just debating the cost in the long run.

I wholeheartedly agree. We should go through the motions of coming up with something “final”, but really it’s just a dry rehearsal before we actually do the stainless steel in the Fall.

I'm into that. Maybe we zip off a blue acrylic one at a print shop on a high res laser. Im gonna have to finish that drawing tomo evening, I'm losing my ass over here.
