Are you guys going to update the Master Password Plus for Firefox Quantum?

vanowm commented 6 years ago

Sorry, no. Firefox Quantum (aka Chromofox) doesn't have capability for this addon to exist. You might be able still run it you enable support for legacy addons with extensions.legacy.exceptions in about:config Or simply switch to Waterfox or Palemoon, that will continue support for legacy addons.

sorry to hear that. I really loved Master Password Plus.

Here is a good read from developer of one of the most popular addons for Firefox DownThemAll

Due to increased spam the email address you attempted to use (support.master-password-plus.unique2vgku@vano.org) is no longer valid. Please visit Master Password+ addon's webpage for up-to-date email address>

Hello dev, this is what i get when trying to send you an email. Same address appears on firefox & thunderbird addon page, you should update it ;)

You might be able still run it you enable support for legacy addons with extensions.legacy.exceptions in about:config>

This is what you state above. Can you detail? After looking in the extension folder, i can't find the MasterPassword+ xpi. All there is is a folder named "masterpasswordtimeoutplus@vano".

Adding this to extensions.legacy.exceptions doesn't seem to do anything. By the way, you didn't update firefox version however you did update Thunderbird up to v62 which runs same engine as Quantum, isn't it..?

Thank you for bring this to my attention.

Thunderbird still supports legacy extensions, hens why it's now separate website for extensions.

The suggested setting is browser/thunderbird setting. In browser you type in address bar about:config in Thunderbird it's in Options -> Advanced -> General -> Config editor

That setting is no longer works in Firefox, so don't bother. If you really need legacy extensions, try Waterfox or Palemoon, both browsers still support them.

Firefox Browser Developer support legacy addon, but cannot instal masterPP

can u fix this?

vanowm commented 4 years ago

I doubt it supports XUL extensions. Maybe bootstrap extensions, which would still require total rewrite for MP+ and even then, it won't work as well.
