vapor-ware / sctl

SCTL is not End2End encryption, instead SCTL is more of an envelope, in which you store secrets until they are needed, and those secrets should only remain available in plain text while the operation that needs them is active.

Needs Packages #11

Closed lazypower closed 5 years ago

I think to start, it would be great to package this up as a snap package, and release on brew. I'm not 100% on what will be required to get this integrated into brew but i'm sure that #10 will be a predep for that.

First iteration of the snap package has been built and published to the edge channel.

Currently tracking / awaiting review on classic confinement here: https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/sctl-needs-classic-confinement/12465

I found this gist for homebrew formula where we create our own keg and tap it with homebrew. I think that's the most direct route forward where we have the publish pipeline and don't have to deal with the bureaucracy of homebrew-core recipes.

we might be able to test the homebrew formula using darling: https://www.darlinghq.org/

Homebrew was pretty straight forward.

we have an edge channel snap that we can use, however store review is taking a while :|

Instead of leaving this ticket to linger, i'm going to close it as we have a path forward for both distribution methods.
