Variety hangs the whole desktop. #566

Describe the bug

I don't exactly know how to describe it, but what happens is that if you click on 'Next' too often, the whole desktop hangs. You can't move the mouse cursor, open programs etc. The whole desktop just hangs. What's odd, though, is that I SSHed into my desktop from my laptop, and that seemed to work. I rebooted the box from there and it shut down and rebooted normally.

To Reproduce

  1. Right-click on the icon in the taskbar and click 'Next'.
  2. Wait for the next background to load, and to the same as step 1.
  3. Do it enough times, and the whole desktop hangs.
