This macro isn't included in varnish 5.1 anymore and the options aren't used.

Hello,

Sorry for such a late response but I believe those VSC_ARGS are used in the default branch of the switch statement. They are generic flags that varnishstat or any program pulling counters from Varnish can use to filter counters or target a specific instance.

Considering that Varnish 4.1 is going EOL we could get rid of the N: option.
