There's something not quite right with the merging of faces. This image is probably the most egregious example of how faces are continually repeated and shown as options over and over through multiple merge cycles.
It took forever to get all the photos of my daughter merged (no, this photo is not my daughter :-D). It kept showing photos that were the same or from the same photo session where the photos should have already belonged to the same "face."
This could very well be, and most likely is, an Immich/API thing. Just thought I'd point it out as an obvious shortfall of the merging feature.
