Did we find this? It was discussed in the Mertzen paper, no?

In Dani's paper, there were still other possible explanations for the pre-critical effects (primarily predictive processing, I think). We narrowed the possible explanations down to encoding interference. Should we add a citation "(see also Mertzen et al)"?

yes. iirc i kept telling dani that the most compelling explanation was encoding interference, but maybe she wanted to remain noncommittal.
