Screen losing sync with opponent #1844

I am wondering if other folks are experiencing the same issue. The issue I am having is that when I am playing VASL with another person, my board updates very slowly, sometimes it can be up to 2 or 3 minutes until my board catches up to the other person. I played VASL 2 years ago with no issues, my computer is basically the same, just a newer model.

I use this same computer to play a couple of online first person shooter games that are very graphics intensive and I have no issues.

Is there a setting that I need to check? All of my drivers are up to date.

Any assistance would be appreciated as this issue is making it frustrating for me and my opponents.

Just a wild guess, but either your connection to VASSAL was having issues, or the VASSAL host server was having issues. Doesn't sound like anything driver or OS related.

Thanks for the reply.

I would accept my connection to VASSAL being the issue if it was only the one time or very infrequent or if I experienced issues with other online games. But, this issue has been occurring for the last 6-months or so and happens every time when I play. I do not recall having the issue when I was playing 2-3 years ago. I would rule out the server itself having issues as the other player does not experience the slow updates when I am moving my pieces.

I guess I will try uninstalling and then reinstalling to see if that resolves the issue. I was hoping that it was something that I inadvertently did at some point.
