love option 2
Would the users share the settings or would each have his own settings? How would it be persisted: per game, per user, or not persisted?
All good questions. I have never looked at this so I don't know the answer but seems to me it is worth looking at.
This all comes from a GS thread that Tom Repetti started. Not my idea but I put it on the list here.
Not sure of all the complications to each option, however, when we convert to .svg files it would be the time to make any changes. I would like to see the Americans with a real olive drab color so they are not so lime green looking. I have been using rgb(160, 160, 35) for my own American colors for certain informational type counters (like control counters).
If the SVGs are transparent, then one could revive the Nationality Colors ex-feature. Dunno if that ever accounted for mixed backgrounds though (the nationalities with different borders).
Option 1: change the US color Option 2: give players the capacity to set unit colors for all nationalities.
