Investigate into what options are there for building a real time chat app

A common method:

use websockets for live communication between server and clients
use redis for in mem db
maybe use redis pub/sub mechanism
maybe aws sns for notifications

Another approach:

use Firebase firestore or Firebase cloud messaging instead of redis and SNS
