Why not? If you have a reasonable function example we could take a look at what would imply.
For the time being people interested on that topic are mostly interested on the map of the Compton peak and that can already be done in the ROI imaging tool with the simple fit batch.
An obvious candidate would be M. Van Gysel, P. Lemberge, and P. Van Espen. Description of Compton peaks in energy-dispersive x-ray fluorescence spectra. X-Ray Spectrom., 32(2):139–147, Mar-Apr 2003
I have also had some success with an expression from neutron scattering:
Basically what the article says is that by freeing the width of the Gaussian and adding two tails at low and high energy side is enough?
Yes, that should do the trick.
I'm hesitating among two solutions
The first one is fast and easy to implement if all the Compton peaks share the same peak parameters while the second paves the way to deal with Resonant Raman peaks
Hi Armando,
Do you have any plans on adding support for Compton peaks to the fitting model? Possibly in such a way that would allow users to specify the expression for the Compton peak?
Best,
Tom
