Map not displaying in World in Flames #12370

Hi, we are a group of 5 who Don Harris's WiF module game. Last week, everything was fine. This week two players could not load the map - the menu came up and they could see the Vassal messages but nothing else. Myself, as the initiator of the night's proceedings did not have a problem. Two other players were also OK (including one who was using his phone as a hot spot because he is on a Pacific Island.

Tonight, myself and one of the players adversely affected last night did some further experimentation. The one thing we noticed was that if I close down the game, then the map appeared for the other player. A little later when we tried again with the other player loading the game, I couldn't get the map to appear, until the other player exited the module.

We have checked settings and nothing seems to be significantly different.

We also tried loading last week's game (ie the save which we started with) and that didn't change anything.

We are all running v3.6.19.

Cheers

Gerry

Hi Gerry,

Just check that this is not the problem: https://vassalengine.org/wiki/Using_VASSAL#The_map_doesn't_appear_when_I_close_and_reopen_a_game?

Hi Brent,

Thanks. I did suspect something like this but couldn't fix it. I will explore all the options suggested and let you know.

Cheers

Gerry
