Update with date parser. #26

Fine by me. Please just accept the changes you are happy with? Now includes group layout to avoid overlaps in the lines and option for text inside new segments.

Hi Steve, if you have multiple unrelated features to add, please separate them into multiple PRs, otherwise it's very difficult to review. Besides you can also not partially approve changes. Thanks!
