Proposal to add CZEG High-Level Sectors HUDSON, THOMPSON, and SEVERN (combined as one polygon for this request). These sectors constitute approximately 2,500,000 square kilometres of FL290-600 airspace in the Winnipeg FIR and comprise a large portion of VATSIM-defined Super Center CZEG_FSS (Edmonton Centre) airspace.
Reason and motivation
Winnipeg CZWG high-level sectors HUDSON, SEVERN, and THOMPSON are owned by CZEG Edmonton. Currently, when CZEG_FSS (Edmonton Centre), a VATSIM Super Center, is online, pilots transiting this en route airspace are often confused by the initiation of contact as the airspace does not display correctly on VASTSPY. CZEG always owns these sectors regardless of CZWG's online status.
Because VATSPY is a significant source of airspace information for online pilots, this addition would greatly reduce pilot confusion and assist the Edmonton FIR in establishing contact with transiting flights.
