As there are more and more tools being able to talk not only to Twitter but 
also to Identi.ca, it 
would be good to implement the APi, too:
http://laconi.ca/trac/wiki/TwitterCompatibleAPI
http://apiwiki.twitter.com/REST+API+Documentation

I would use the same URL scheme as identi.ca does. The /api/ path is available 
on NoseRub anyway.
