The master branch of my fork https://github.com/skierpage/catdoc incorporates all the Debian patches, the latest GPLv2 COPYING with fixed address, and Fedora's makefilefix.patch. I've built it and catdoc and wordview work.
How else can I help make a new catdoc release, so Debian doesn't have to carry patches and Fedora gets the fixes?
Hello, this looks like it might be upstream for this fine package (the Wiki, FAQ, and CVStrac links at http://www.wagner.pp.ru/~vitus/software/catdoc/ are all broken).
If so, could you consider incorporating the various Debian patches and releasing a 0.96? I ran into the bug that
catdoc
fails on LibreOffice .doc files (RedHat bug 2150140) for which Debian has a simple patch, but it's not upstreamed so Fedora doesn't have it. Debian carries other useful patches that you might incorporate. Thanks! If you didn't know, KDE's baloo file indexer uses KFileMetainfo which invokes catdoc, catppt, and xls2csv.
