run ahead, which is a great technique to reduce input lag.
run ahead is an emulation technique that essentially pre-computes the emulation a few frames ahead. When the user makes an input, the emulation can immediately respond by adjusting the pre-computed frames accordingly, thus reducing the perceived input delay.
By the way, this is a world premiere, as vc64web is currently the first web-based emulator to support this feature.

in order to prepare for a smooth transition to the upcoming version 5 core please update to the latest v4.5 version of vc64web on your devices where you still have precious saved snapshots.
v5 snapshots are incompatible with the v4 series.
The latest v4.5 version prepares for that with the ability to switch to an older core (even after you have updated to v5). It is essential to update to the latest current v4.5 for this to work.
