Recent changes in the Scrapbee workflow have made it a bit more cumbersome to read the saved page immediately after saving (for example to validate it). The purpose of this issue is to request reconsideration and refinement.
Refreshing the UI brought about some frustrating user obstacles—as @balbirthomas rightly point out. Especially so, as far as the work-flow is concerned. Since this is a very recent release, there is bound to be more input from users. My own input is still pending the use of Scrapbee (SB) 2.6.1 for a little while longer, to review what else it delivers to the overall user experience.
There are some very nice enhancements in SB 2.6.1, too. One, a request of long-standing, was getting the pages (tabs) to be saved in browser sequence (#61). This is fulfilled. In addition, it also appears as if the pages are getting saved quite a bit faster than had been the case, previously.
Thank you.
Here are a few more changes in the new release that remove what IMHO were convenient and pleasant feature of the previous (prior to 2.6.1) release
If a document is selected in the left Scrapbee window then the next Scrapbee document saved will be saved immediately after the selected document. This saves the user the trouble to later re-order the documents in the Scrapbee menu if he/she so desires.
Any change in the left Scrapbee window (such as changing the position of a document) or even saving a new document results in a refresh of the entire window and menu.
Kindly do reconsider impacts of these changes along with loss of right mouse button (context menu) on the user experience.
Scrapbee on saving a page raises a browser notification with a popup. If it was possible to put a URI to the saved page in this notification that the user can click then it would become easy for the user to view the page immediately after saving it.
This would be a good solution. But please do still consider restoring the context menu.
@balbirthomas
Have you tried release v2.6.2 yet?
