No Fast-jump forwards/backwards #3

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a movie
2. Try to fast jump forward (not fast-forward)
3. Notice nothing happening :(

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected the film to jump forward (or backward) the couple of seconds I choose.
But it did not.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Using Newest XBMC, Windows 7 x64, version 1.0.4 of your plugin.

Please provide any additional information below.
Might not be a bug just maby something that you missed.

this is only for megaup free users, premium does not have this problem.

a patch to xbmc itself is being worked on that will solve skip forward/backward
for free users, but you will not be able to skip to any point in file, only
what has been buffered. (like the old youtube)

Has this changed? Also is this the same for the Apple Tv?

When caching is available from xbmc core, it would be possible to stop watching
a movie, and start where we left off by downloading the file from MEGAUPLOAD
using the "Range: bytes=offset_start-offset_end" HTTP header, thus, downloading
from where we stopped last time. We would only have to calculate the cached
file length to know the "offset_start" value.

I've done some tests with MegaUpload, and they support HTTP Range Header
Requests.

anyone care to confirm that this issue is limited to free MU users and is
solved with premium upgrade?

I am a free MU user and can forward and rewind on the openelec/xbmc
installation of icefilms. Maybe the patch is included in openelec's xbmc?

I have a similar problem on my Apple TV 2. When I choose to fast forward,
rewind - it very slow and the counter does not show how long I actually havee
"moved" in the movie.

This is a problem for me in the current setup for Rapidshare movies.

Same problem here! The fast forward is really slow even when it is 5 times
faster. The time shows it is played a lot faster but it doesn't
