DIA-NN 1.9 doesn't find Skyline #1038

Dear Vadim and DIA-NN team,

First of all, congratulations on the birth of your new baby !!!!!

I would have a very short question. Although I have the last version of Skyline Daily installed, DIA-NN 1.9 cannot find it. Does it need to be installed in a specific folder so DIA-NN can find it?

Hi Nicolas,

Was Skyline installed 'for all users'? If not, that would be the reason. Currenty, DIA-NN examines the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry to find Skyline installation. We will also suport user-specific installs in the future.

Hi all,

I am experiencing the same issue as Nicolas. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Skyline Daily without success. During the installation, I was not given the option to install 'for all users' or 'only for this user.'

It might be that currently it only works if Skyline is installed from under an administrator-type Windows account, DIA-NN is launched with admin privileges or both. We will add more reliable detection of Skyline in the future.

yes, I found a post in the skyline help from 2013, explaining skyline only support per-user installation. therefore, the only way to use this function right now is to a single session computer. Is it correct? :(

If you install the following daily version of skyline, it works: https://skyline.ms/wiki/home/software/Skyline/daily/page.view?name=install-administrator-64

We couldn't find the non-daily correct version (it was the one form January)

Thanks for checking. Just also heard from the Skyline team, currently indeed only works with 'Administrator' installs (I have added a note in the docs now), we will support web installs of Skyline in the future too.
